SDCC 09: DC Universe Online Panel Report (DC Universe Online)
Jul 27th

Another Comic-Con means another dose of DC Universe Online action. That makes Greg Miller happy. The demo on the show floor is the same STAR Labs fight he got to play at E3 — you know, there’s a gas leak at STAR Labs and it’s turning everyone into zombies — but the throngs of fans attacking the Sony Online Entertainment booth really don’t seem to mind.

Next Resident Evil film in 3D – Report
Jul 25th
Paul W.S. Anderson tells horror film site that he will use Avatar camera system for first installment in a new zombie trilogy.
Like one of the brain-slurping zombies that populate his Resident Evil film adaptations, director Paul W.S. Anderson wants more. According to a Comic-Con report on horror film site ShockTilYouDrop.com, Anderson has confirmed that he will write and direct a 3D fourth entry in the series, and that the project would be the first in a new three-film arc.
“I wanted to kick off a brand new trilogy,” Anderson told the site. “I’m really excited we’re doing it [in 3D], and we’re using the same camera system [James] Cameron used for Avatar. There are a lot of exciting things about this one. I don’t regard it as Resident Evil 4; I regard it as a retooling and rebirth of the entire franchise.”
The film will be called Resident Evil: Afterlife and will once again see Milla Jovovich star as gun-toting heroine Alice. ShockTilYouDrop.com reports the film is expected to open September 17, 2010, and will feature new characters pulled from the game series.
Resident Evil: Afterlife was originally the name of the third film in the series, which was eventually released as Resident Evil: Extinction. Even before shooting began on Extinction, a fourth film in the series had been planned. That project was to be set in Tokyo and filmed on location.
It’s been a newsworthy Comic-Con for Anderson fans. Yesterday, James Wan, who cowrote and directed Lionsgate’s horror film Saw, told a different horror film site that he would be cowriting and directing the Castlevania film Anderson is producing.

Techland working on stuff, keeping quiet for now (Warhound)
Jul 12th

TVGB: "There’s been quite a bit of chit, and chat, around the water cooler in the last week or so about Techland’s future offerings now that Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood has been tagged and released. Dead Island, the game that mixes palm trees, crystal clear waters and zombies, was the first to get inquired about. Thankfully that one is still being worked on, and has even found a publisher. But there’s been no word on their other two titles that were announced many years ago but haven’t been talked about in quite a while – Warhound, an open-ended first-person shooter, and Chrome 2, the sequel to 2003’s sci-fi shooter. We got in touch with Techland to see what was up with these titles and walked away with both good and not so good news."

Call of Juarez Developer’s Zombie Game, Dead Island, Still Alive And Kicking (Dead Island)
Jul 6th

G4TV:
More zombies are a good thing, which is why I’m happy to report that Techland’s Dead Island, an open-ended zombie thriller set on what should be an island paradise, is definitely still in development. Who is Techland? It’s the studio behind the better-than-expected Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood.

Will PopCap retroactively censor Plants Vs. Zombies? (Plants vs Zombies)
Jun 29th

Gamer Limit writes "Over on Reddit, there has been quite the stir regarding the Dancing Zombie from PopCap’s latest game, Plants Versus Zombies.
The general gist from their discussion is, while previously the Micheal Jackson zombie was humorous, yet now, since his death, it looks a touch distasteful."
