How To Download Nintendo Wii Games

Did you know that you can get free full downloadable games that you can play on your Nintendo Wii? There are actually many ways of downloading Wii games and other types of media content such as movies and music. However, finding a quality media download service that will not litter your PC with viruses, spy ware, or other malicious software is much more difficult. Let’s discover what the Wii downloads services offer. . . Before I get into explaining how to go about downloading Wii games, you need to be aware of what content you can actually download and use on your Wii. The good news is that you can get free full downloadable games, movies, TV series, music, and audio books. Much of this content can also be used on your PC or Mac. Some download services will require special software installing on your computer in order to gain access to the content. You also need to be aware that some download services will be blocked by your ISP, especially during peak hours. Another thing to watch out for is that some Wii game images and movies are very large, so if you have a monthly limit on your broadband service then make sure you don’t go over that limit and incurr additional charges. What Wii Download Sites are Available? There are thousands of media download services, such as P2P and torrent services, and various pay monthly membership download sites. However, many of these offer a very poor service, in some cases are complete scams, or at best the services will fill your machines with spy-ware, viruses, or other malicious software. Although there is a lot of bad quality download sites around, there are also some great services. The best media download sites offer a superb range of content, super-quick download speeds, great search and download tools, and even quality customer support. Most importantly, the better services are certified to use legal software that are scam and virus free. Which Wii Download Services Should I use? The best media download services that I have tried and tested myself all have a small one-off set-up fee, but they offer a cast iron 60 day money back guarantee if you are not satisfied with their service. This sort of guarantee is essential when choosing a download service. The quality Wii game download sites offer a great selection of free Wii games, as well as providing access to all types of video and music content, including games for other consoles such as the Playstation 3, Windows PC games, and the Xbox. Remember, it is very important to get your media and Wii downloads from a high quality reputable service that has been verified to be spy-ware, virus and scam free, but one that also offers good customer support, quality content, and fast downloads. If you want to download games for the Nintendo Wii then don’t get sucked in by fancy sales pages with “too good to miss” offers as they are probably a scam.

Computer Games – the New Sport

The popularity of computer games has grown exponentially over the past couple of decades, this is because a game for almost every interest has been created, from traditional board games, to card games and even extremely complex alien invasions they have all been released under the PC platform.
The advantage of PC games over consoles is that they are usually a lot cheaper than their counterparts and have almost all of the features found in more expensive games designed exclusively for PlayStation, Xbox or any other standalone console.   Those who do not want to pay for a game will always have the option of using the Web to find simpler but yet entertaining applications and if you decide to take some time to find some good free online games and you’re sure to come across some very remarkable places.
Today we’re going to talk about those games that have been released exclusively for PC and that most of the time will not be found for free on the Web, if you examples are: Team Fortress, F. E. A. R. , Age of Conan, Mass Effect and such. All of these games are a common characteristic which is that they all require a pretty good system in order to take advantage of all the graphics and action they provide.
The New Sport
Has computer gaming become a new sport?  Many PC gamers will undoubtedly answer in a positive way and they would not be completely wrong due to the fact that many games made for PC can be enhanced with the use of custom-made peripherals that can be purchased separately.   The Nintendo Wii started the revolution interactive gaming by completely engaging the player in a physical activity, this may be a workout routine, an outdoor game such as golf or even an RPG.
Physical interaction through special controllers can be added to PC gaming which is a very special feature that can effectively turn any game into an actual sport that can be played indoors and will provide many health-related benefits when compared to the versions that did not require any movement whatsoever.
PC controllers that have turned everything around come in different shapes and sizes, some are enhanced joysticks, others are racing wheels and yes, even the Nintendo Wii controllers can be adapted to a PC port so playing your favorite RPG or combat game can actually become a more engaging activity.

Shippin’ Out July 26-August 1: Wii Sports Resort

Nintendo’s sports bundle sequel due out Sunday, with Gears of War2: All Fronts Collection and Marvel vs. Capcom 2 slamming onto Xbox 360; Bionic Commando and East India Company sail to the PC.

Although this week is host to a series of notable titles–like Gears of War 2: All Fronts Collection, Marvel vs. Capcom 2 on the Xbox 360, and Bionic Commando for the PC–they will likely be dwarfed by Sunday’s release of Nintendo’s Wii Sports Resort. The sports game debuted in Japan in mid-June with nearly 360,000 units sold in its first week, and has received ample critical praise.

Bundled with the Wii MotionPlus, the minigame collection offers over 20 activities–more than double the number of its predecessor, 2006’s Wii Sports. Many of the included sports games take advantage of the expanded control provided by the MotionPlus, like Frisbee Dog and archery. Other new sports include swordplay, basketball, canoeing, cycling, and wakeboarding.

Deploying from another popular franchise is the sci-fi shooter Gears of War 2: All Fronts Collection. The add-on will bundle the “Dark Corners” expansion, which includes three new multiplayer maps (Flashback, Snowblind, and Combustible) and the “Road to Ruin” single-player chapter, and all previous map packs into one MSP1600/$19.99 package on Xbox Live. (A proposed boxed retail product was canceled just before last month’s
Electronic Entertainment Expo.) Dark Corners is also available a la carte for MSP1200/$14.99.

Xbox 360 users might be glad to learn that the classic fighter Marvel vs. Capcom 2 will hit the Xbox Live Arcade this week, two weeks before its release on the PlayStation 3. Although Capcom’s arcade game hit the PlayStation 2 and Xbox several years ago, the Xbox 360 release will feature three graphics settings–classic, crisp, and smooth–and remains faithful to the purist-favored Dreamcast edition of 2000.

Although Capcom’s prolific arcade fighter carries on, its sci-fi adventure Bionic Commando is limping to the PC. The series was hamstrung by poor sales and lackluster reviews on its Xbox 360 and PS3 editions released last May. The Windows edition will support higher screen resolutions than their counterparts and touts remappable controls, mouse-and-keyboard support, and DirectX 9 and 10 compatibility.

Rounding out this week’s releases is a voyage back to the 18th century. From the Finnish developer Nitro Games is the naval game East India Company, which is a unique combination of naval trading and warfare, exclusively for the PC. Players can control colonial markets by trading commodities like tea, spices, gold, and silk, and can wage war on the high seas in real-time strategy battles.

For further details on the week’s games, visit GameSpot’s New Releases page. The full list of downloadable games on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Live Marketplace, and the Wii Shop Channel will be revealed later this week. Release dates are based on retailer listings and are subject to change.

The Console Versus Pc Gaming Battle

Author: Jessica KosinskiNovember 19, 2008 The Console Versus PC Gaming Battle In the world of gaming, some of us like to think that PC gamers rule the roost. Others, however, are die hard console gamers. Some walk the line and play both. So, o they have the staying power? Is one type destined to become obsolete? First of all, in the world of console gaming, there are three main categories, these days, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 or Wii gamers. Granted, some play two types and some play all three. Personally, I am a Nintendo fiend, though. In some ways, that competition actually works in the console gamers’ favor. Since there are three main console games, there are three very distinctive console game sets to choose from. Yet, those sets are ever changing. For example, I loved Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie on N64. Imagine my dismay when I discovered that the latest Banjo game is only out on Xbox 360! Suddenly, they aren’t Nintendo specific games anymore! So, now, if I want to play my favorite games, I have to buy a 360. Theoretically, once I do that, I will see other 360 games that I like and buy those. I’m probably not alone. That trend will probably cause a lot of you gamers out there to buy more than one system and, as a result, games for more than one system. So, any old school console gamers are probably going to stay console gamers and, by default, their kids will probably be console gamers, since the games will be in the house. I don’t see console games ever dying. So, are computer games destined to go by the wayside, instead? Well, I think not, just for sheer convenience. Most of us use our computers on a daily basis. If we have breaks from work or just happen to be online chatting with friends, why not play a game, especially a multiplayer online game? In fact, more and more MMORPG’s are popping up. World of Warcraft, Warhammer and the like are in no danger of dying off. Aside from that sort of convenience, there’s also the space convenience. If you play computer games, you don’t have to contend with console game systems, lots of game controllers and accessories and tons of game discs and cases everywhere. A lot of computer games don’t even require a disc to run. Then there’s convenience point three. If you’re already at your computer playing a game you have the world at your fingertips, as far as finding game information goes. You can easily look up game cheats, game walkthroughs, game trailers and more. Of course, if you are playing a console game, you can take time out and go over to your computer and look up the cheat codes, but it takes more time. Ultimately, there are no winners or losers in the battle between console and PC. I am looking forward to Diablo III coming out for PC, personally, but I’m also looking forward to the day that I can replace the Wii that my ex boyfriend kept, too! There’s no reason we should choose one over the other. All games are a blast!

Weaver, Ribisi game for Avatar voice cast

Sigourney Weaver, Giovanni Ribisi, Michelle Rodriguez, and Stephen Lang to voice game versions of upcoming James Cameron film.

In direct contrast to James Cameron at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, Ubisoft has been tight-lipped about its adaptation of the director’s upcoming feature film Avatar. The day after the director showed footage of the film, the publisher opened up to reveal some of the big-name voice talent it has secured for the games.

Foremost among the names is Sigourney Weaver (Aliens, Vantage Point), who will reprise her role as Dr. Grace Augustine for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, and PC versions of Avatar. However, the rest of the voice cast will be split up by platform.

The Wii version of the game will also feature Giovanni Ribisi (Boiler Room, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow), while the 360, PS3, and PC editions will include Michelle Rodriguez (Fast and Furious, TV’s Lost) and Stephen Lang (Tombstone, Fire Down Below). Curiously, neither of the film’s two stars, Sam Worthington (Terminator: Salvation, the forthcoming Clash of the Titans remake) and Zoe Saldana (this year’s Star Trek reboot), were mentioned in Ubisoft’s release.

While the voice actors address the Avatar games’ audio experience, Ubisoft is banking on their visuals to really blow customers away. The PC, 360, and PlayStation editions of Avatar are being developed in stereoscopic 3D, the same technology previously seen in movies such as Beowulf 3D and Monsters vs. Aliens. The games will have their own stories running parallel to the events of the film. Working with Cameron, Ubisoft’s developers created new characters, vehicles, and weapons to flesh out the universe of Avatar.

No voice cast announcements were made for the PSP or DS editions of the game. All versions of Avatar are set to debut this holiday season, prior to the film’s December 18 theatrical premiere. For more on Avatar, check out GameSpot’s previous coverage.

Alice down DS, Wii, PC rabbit hole March 2010

Disney to release new games based on Tim Burton’s upcoming Alice in Wonderland film, with iPhone and iTouch editions out next year.

The 2000 horror adventure game American McGee’s Alice depicts the heroine of the original Lewis Carroll story as an adult who fights her way back to sanity while trapped in her imagination. Nine years later, Disney announced today a slate of games that will also depict a mature Alice, though they will be more whimsical and less morbid than their Electronic Arts counterpart.

Developed by Spyro’s Etranges Libellules in France, Alice in Wonderland will be based on Tim Burton’s upcoming film of the same name, due out on the Nintendo DS, Wii, and PC during the week of the movie’s March 5 release next year. The film will star Johnny Depp, Helen Bonham Carter, and Stephen Fry. Mia Wasikowska will star as Alice, and the movie takes place after Carroll’s original Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass stories. Disney will also release mobile games for the franchise on the iPhone and iTouch in 2010, with a promo app out this December.

The Wii and PC editions will follow the plot of the film, allowing players to join up with such characters as the Mad Hatter and Cheshire Cat to help Alice as she fights the Red Queen and Jabberwocky to return Wonderland–now called “Underland”–to its previous glory. The DS version touts an exclusive playable character and unique art style.
