What Is The The Difference About These Two Sims 2 Pc Games?

These games both are the Sims 2 on PC. But one of them is single disc, and the other one has four discs. I remember playing on my cousin’s four-disc one a couple of years ago, and I remember it was really advanced. I would like to buy the four-disc one now for myself. But is it any better than the single-disc one?

ChartSpot: NPD’s rankings of US game sales from January to June show EA’s sim sequel edging out WOW expansion on PC charts; Nintendo takes half of non-PC top 10.
Just under a week after it published a worse-than-expected US monthly game sales report, the NPD Group has released its top 10 best-seller charts for the year so far. The rankings were based on unit sales figures, which were themselves not made public.
The leading industry-research group found that, in the first six months of 2006, Nintendo dominated the domestic non-PC games market, occupying six of the top 10 slots. Wii Fit came in first, followed by Pokemon Platinum (DS), the Wii Remote pack-in Wii Play, and Wii Mario Kart, which is bundled with the Wii wheel. The last two positions on the top 10 were taken by some venerable DS holdovers–New Super Mario Bros., released in May 2006, and Mario Kart DS, first released in November 2005.
Sandwiched between the Mii yoginis and pocket-sized plumbers were three Xbox 360 games–Capcom’s Resident Evil 5 (fifth), THQ’s UFC 2009 Undisputed (sixth), and Activision’s 2008 hit Call of Duty: World at War (seventh). The sole PlayStation 3 title to crack the top 20 was the long-awaited–and critically praised–first-party shooter Killzone 2, which fought its way into eighth place.
On the PC charts–much like in the real world–Electronic Arts and Activision Blizzard fought it out for supremacy. From January to July, the former’s Sims 3 was a double threat, with the regular edition being the top game and the $70 collector’s edition coming in eighth. Despite competing against its own sequel, The Sims 2: Double Deluxe was the six-month period’s bronze-medal winner, with The Sims 2: Apartment Life expansion taking 10th place. EA also scored with Spore, the half-year’s seventh-place PC title.
Activision Blizzard’s showing wasn’t too shabby, with the World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King expansion coming in second, and the $40 World of Warcraft: Battle Chest Bundle–which consists of the original game and the Burning Crusade expansion–coming in fourth. The original World of Warcraft, which was released over four and a half years ago, remained a best seller in sixth place. Rounding out the top 10 US PC games from January to June were fifth-place finisher Empire: Total War from Sega and ninth-place game Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II from THQ.

Exclusive: The Sims 3 Breaks 800K, Tops U.S PC Game Sales In June (The Sims 3)

Gamasutra can reveal that The Sims 3 sold 820,000 copies in the United States in June, topping sales charts across all platforms for the month, according to information provided by NPD.
The PC title, developed by Electronic Arts’ Redwood Shores studio as the latest in the Will Wright-conceived life sim series, is already one of the overall top-selling games released in 2009 for any format, based on information about console game sales published this week and also provided to Gamasutra by NPD.
Direct comparisons to early sales of 2004 predecessor The Sims 2 are difficult; that game sold over 1 million units in its first 10 days internationally, with fewer than half of those sales said to be in the US. The Sims 3 has sold nearly that total number in the US alone, but across a period of a calendar month.

Prototype tops NPD’s montly non-PC top 20 with nearly 600,000 units, while Ghostbusters just misses the top 10; Sims 3 new PC king, Spore Galactic Adventures opens strong.
Yesterday, the NPD Group released numbers more grim than even the gloomiest of analysts had predicted. In June, US sales of non-PC game software, hardware, and accessories shrank by 31 percent, or $530 million, compared to the same period in 2008. Even though the month saw the worst monthly showing since September 2000, titles like Prototype and UFC 2009: Undisputed tried to rally against the trend, both selling over 330,000 in June.
Today, the industry tracking group offered top-20 lists of best-selling PC and non-PC software in the US. Prototype’s Xbox 360 edition topped the non-PC chart with 419,000 units sold, more than double its 13th-place, PlayStation 3 counterpart’s 179,200-unit haul. Together, the two versions’ total was a robust 598,200 units.
Besides Prototype, the top three is a reshuffle of the previous month, with UFC 2009: Undisputed moving from first to second, and EA Sports Active remaining at third. In fourth was the Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (272,400 units), which came bundled with Wii MotionPlus, followed by the Balance Board-bonded Wii Fit (271,600) in fifth. Sixth and seventh place finisher Fight Night Round 4 sold over 460,000 units combined, with Mario Kart Wii (eighth, 202,100 units), the 360 Red Faction: Guerrilla (ninth, 199,400), and the PS3-only Infamous (10th, 192,700) rounding out the top 10.
With NPD discontinuing its weekly PC charts mid-month, its monthly top 20 is now the only nationwide regular report of retail PC game sales. The month’s big winner was the already platinum Sims 3, which took the top two slots with its regular and collector’s editions. In third was its predecessor in the form of the Sims 2 Double Deluxe, followed by perennial favorites World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King (fourth) and
World of Warcraft: Battle Chest (fifth).
The bottom half of the top 10 were made up familiar faces. EA’s new expansion Spore Galactic Adventures infected sixth place, with the original Spore just two spaces behind. In between was the stand-alone World of Warcraft–still popular nearly five years after its October 2004 release–followed by Sega’s Empire: Total War. In 10th place was another Blizzard game with six years seniority on WOW–Starcraft: Battle Chest.
Other new releases making the top 20 included 2K Games’ Civilization IV: Complete Edition (13th), Activision’s Prototype (18th), and Atari’s Ghostbusters: The Video Game.

US PC Charts May 31-June 6: The Sims 3 ascendant

The latest entry in EA’s multibillion-dollar franchise leads a Sims sweep of the top three slots; WOW, Spore, Total War, and Fallout 3 expansions also place.
The NPD Group released today its weekly summary of PC game sales in the US for the week of May 31 to June 6, revealing that the newest iteration of EA’s Sims series was that week’s best-selling PC game in the US. It comes as no surprise that the Sims 3 occupied the top position, as the game sold 1.4 million copies seven days after its June 2 release. The Sims franchise actually occupied the top three slots, with The Sims 3 Collector’s Edition in second and The Sims 2: Double Deluxe in third.
The Sims series bumped down Blizzard’s World of Warcraft titles, which have long dominated the PC market. Blizzard’s latest title, World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, landed in fourth, with the World of Warcraft: Battle Chest placing fifth. EA’s Spore dropped from the third slot to the sixth, while budget gambling sim Reel Deal Slots Adventure remained in seventh. World of Warcraft was eighth while Empire: Total War dropped three spots to finish ninth. The postapocalyptic shooter add-on, Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage/The Pitt Expansion Pack, entered the fray, barely, at 10th.
